White Cake Recipe

1. Preheat and Prepare  

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients 

In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

3. Cream Butter and Sugar 

In a large bowl, beat 1 cup of unsalted butter (softened) with 2 cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Add Wet Ingredients 

Add 4 egg whites, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then mix in 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract.

5. Combine Ingredients 

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with 1 cup of whole milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

6. Bake 

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Cool and Frost 

Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely. Frost with your favorite icing.
